The Exchange

Daheli Hall, who is a Haitian-Jamaican writer and director, has created Disney’s new show, The Exchange. The show is based on a Haitian-American teenager named Brigitte who suggests to her teacher that each class mates should spend a week at each other’s houses when a study abroad program was cancelled. The plan is for the student to experience each other's sense of cultural background.

It's great to see that the Haitian culture is being promoted through a mainstream medium such as Disney. We hope that a fairly balanced and positive representation of our culture can be projected just as we have seen in the first episode. Great Job Daheli Hall!
