The Late Brooklyn Rapper, The Notorious B.I.G, is one of the most influential and iconic figures in Hip-Hop.

For an artist who only lived until the age of 24, The Notorious B.I.G, has proven to be beyond genius. He mixed his charismatic personality to persuade the masses with his versatile lyrical flow that is embedded with luxurious rhymes.

The Bad Boy Records artist first stormed the rap scene in the year 1994 with the release of his freshman album, Ready To Die, which featured his hit single Juicy that topped the Billboard Hot 100 at number 27.

Though both of his Album became automatic classics, it was his sophomore album, Life After Death, that earned him his first Billboard Hot 100 no. 1 spot in 1997.

Unfortunately, on this day March 9th, 1997, Brooklyn-born rapper Christopher Wallace — or better known as, Biggie Smalls or the Notorious B.I.G — was shot and killed in an L.A. drive-by shooting. He did not get to even witness his upcoming successes as he was only 24 years old during the time of his murder.

The Legacy lives on because through art there is life after death. Although The Notorious B.I.G only released 1 album while he was alive, but the three posphumous albums Life After Death, Born Again and Duets: The Final Chapter set him at the pedestal that he truly deserves, which is King Of Rap.

To top it all off, there is a Bed-Stuy street sign for THE NOTORIOUS B.I.G.’s old block of St. James Place between Fulton St & Gates Ave, which has been officially renamed CHRISTOPHER WALLACE WAY in the year 2013.

We'll always be missing you and we will always love you B.I.G Poppa!
